The beginning of a base head mesh built by using edge extensions. It's more meticulous than using a smoothed cube, but I like the control I have in structuring the face and the fact that this is being built with proper edge loops in mind.

ZBrush sketch
Strangely, I had an easier time with ZBrush than Mudbox's interface. It probably has more to do with me becoming accustomed to using the pen tablet than anything else. It is strange zooming in and out, but that is all.
This sketch was based off of a piece of concept art I found from WoW Cataclysm.

Base head from a cube
Made a simple base head from a cube in Maya. Time to experiment sculpting in Mudbox! The tablet interface will take some getting used to though.

Gopher renders
This time around I used Mudbox to create my normal and ambient occlusion maps. It was very easy to figure out how to generate the maps compared to Maya. Renders were done in Marmoset.

Gopher WIP 2
Have been working on laying out UVs as I build the model. Building it with the intention of going back and animating as I learn about rigging/animating.
